Hive thermostat backlight does not turn on or stays on permanently

Safety first: No mains work required.

• Check settings: In the thermostat menu, verify the backlight timeout and brightness settings.
• Reboot thermostat: Remove and reinsert batteries to reset the display controller.
• Observe behavior: If the backlight never comes on despite correct settings, or never turns off, the backlight driver may be faulty.
