Hive thermostat display is very dim or completely unreadable, but device otherwise works

Safety first: No mains work required.

• Adjust brightness: Check display brightness settings in the thermostat menu.
• Reboot thermostat: Remove and reinsert batteries to reset the display controller.
• Check viewing angle: Some LCDs appear dim at extreme angles; view straight-on.
• When to call a pro: If the display remains unreadable, the display module has likely failed and the thermostat should be replaced.
