Thermostat buttons or touchscreen are unresponsive or slow to react

Safety first: No mains work required.

• Replace batteries: Low voltage can cause sluggish response. Install fresh alkaline batteries.
• Reboot thermostat: Remove the thermostat from the wall plate, take out the batteries for 1 minute, then reinstall.
• Clean surface: For touchscreens, gently clean the screen with a soft, dry cloth to remove grease or dirt.
• Check for physical damage: Inspect for cracks or signs of impact. Physical damage usually requires replacement.
