Possible Causes
Weak 24VAC supply, Loose thermostat on wall plate, Failing backlight LEDs, Damaged touchscreen digitizer
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off HVAC power at the breaker before removing the thermostat.
- Reseat thermostat: Remove the thermostat from the wall plate and snap it back firmly to ensure good pin contact.
- Check 24VAC voltage: Measure between R and C at the wall plate. Low voltage can cause dim or unstable displays; correct any transformer or wiring issues.
- Adjust brightness settings: In the thermostat menu, increase display brightness if it has been set low.
- Replace thermostat: If voltage and connections are good but the display remains dim or unresponsive, the display or digitizer has failed and the thermostat should be replaced.
