Thermostat is very slow to respond to touch or menu commands

Safety first: No hazardous work is required, but avoid opening equipment panels while powered.

• Step 1 – Reboot thermostat: Remove the thermostat from the wall plate for 30–60 seconds, then reinstall.
• Step 2 – Clear logs/history: In the settings, clear unnecessary logs or history if the option is available.
• Step 3 – Reduce background features: Disable non‑essential features such as complex animations or advanced logging if configurable.
• Step 4 – Firmware update: Check for and install any available firmware updates that may improve performance.
• Step 5 – Replace thermostat: If performance remains poor after updates and resets, the main processor or memory may be failing and the thermostat should be replaced.
