Possible Causes
Loose connection at wiring centre, Failing RF receiver relay contacts, Corroded terminal screws, Shared neutral issues
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate mains power before opening wiring centres or receivers.
Steps:
- 1. Observe boiler input: When the thermostat calls for heat, check if the boiler's call for heat terminal consistently receives voltage (use a multimeter if competent).
- 2. Tighten all terminals: At the wiring centre and RF receiver, tighten all live, neutral, and earth terminals associated with the heating controls.
- 3. Inspect for corrosion: Look for green/white corrosion on copper conductors. Cut back and re‑terminate if necessary.
- 4. Replace RF receiver: If the relay contacts are pitted or burnt (visible signs of arcing), replace the Ideal RF receiver.
