Possible Causes
Incorrect wiring to boiler or wiring centre, Thermostat set to 'Off' or low setpoint, Faulty CH relay or triac, RF receiver not responding to thermostat
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate mains power before accessing wiring or receivers.
Steps:
- 1. Check settings: Ensure the thermostat is in 'Heat' mode and the set temperature is above current room temperature. Check schedules are not in an 'Off' period.
- 2. Verify RF link (if wireless): Check the Ideal RF receiver LEDs. If the 'link' LED is off or flashing, re‑pair the thermostat and receiver as per the manual.
- 3. Wiring centre test: At the wiring centre, with power off, confirm the thermostat CH call wire is correctly connected. With power on and a heat demand, measure for 230 V (or appropriate voltage) on the CH output.
- 4. Manual boiler test: Briefly link live to the boiler's CH call terminal at the wiring centre. If the boiler fires, the issue is with the thermostat or its wiring.
- 5. Replace thermostat or receiver: If wiring is correct and manual tests work, the thermostat or RF receiver output stage may be faulty.
