Possible Causes
Stuck CH zone valve, CH valve not wired to Ideal thermostat output, Airlock or closed radiator valves (hydraulic issue), Misconfigured zone assignment in app
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate power before touching zone valves or wiring.
Steps:
- 1. Check radiator valves: Ensure TRVs and lockshield valves are open on several radiators.
- 2. Test CH zone valve: Locate the CH motorised valve. When the thermostat calls for heat, feel if the valve body warms and the pipe after it gets hot. Manually move the lever to 'Manual/Open' to see if radiators heat.
- 3. Verify wiring: Confirm the thermostat CH output is wired to the CH valve or boiler CH input, not just to HW circuits.
- 4. App zone configuration: In the Ideal app, ensure the thermostat is assigned to the correct heating zone and that zone is enabled.
