Possible Causes
Damaged capacitive touch panel, Loose ribbon cable between display and main PCB, Electrostatic discharge damage, Cracked front glass or plastic
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power to the thermostat before opening the housing.
- Step 1 – Clean surface: Gently clean the thermostat front with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use solvents or water. Dirt or moisture can affect touch sensitivity.
- Step 2 – Power reset: Remove power for 2–3 minutes, then restore. Check if touch response improves and E09 clears.
- Step 3 – Inspect for damage: Look for cracks in the front panel or signs of impact. If the glass/plastic is broken, the touch layer is likely damaged.
- Step 4 – Internal connection: If you are qualified, open the thermostat and check the flat ribbon cable between the display/touch module and the main PCB. Reseat it carefully.
- Step 5 – Replace UI module: If E09 persists and touch remains unresponsive, the display/touch module or entire thermostat must be replaced.
