Possible Causes
Depleted batteries, Wrong battery type installed, Corroded battery contacts, Faulty internal DC-DC converter
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Use only recommended battery types. Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Step 1 – Replace batteries: Open the battery compartment and replace all batteries with new, high-quality alkaline cells of the specified type (e.g., AA or AAA).
- Step 2 – Clean contacts: If there is white or green corrosion, gently clean the contacts with a cotton swab and a small amount of isopropyl alcohol. Allow to dry fully.
- Step 3 – Check orientation: Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity as indicated in the compartment.
- Step 4 – Test operation: Refit the thermostat and check if E14 disappears and the device remains powered.
- Step 5 – Internal fault: If new batteries drain very quickly or E14 persists, the internal power circuitry is likely defective and the thermostat should be replaced.
