Possible Causes

Contaminated or worn touch surface, Static damage to touch controller, Loose internal connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off HVAC power before removing the thermostat from the wall.

  • Clean surface: Gently clean the touchscreen with a soft, slightly damp microfiber cloth. Do not use solvents.
  • Power cycle: Remove the thermostat from the wall plate for a few minutes, then reinstall and test.
  • Use app as workaround: Control the thermostat via the Lux app if the physical interface is unreliable.
  • Replace thermostat: If unresponsive areas remain, the touch panel or button contacts are likely failed and the thermostat should be replaced.
