- Test network: Verify that your 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi network is active, not hidden, and that the SSID and password are correct in the Meross app. Ensure the router is within range.
- Reset network settings: Put the thermostat into pairing mode (usually by holding the main button until the Wi‑Fi icon blinks) and re-add it in the Meross app. If E8 persists, the module may be defective.
- Check for firmware update: If you can briefly connect, update to the latest firmware via the Meross app, then power cycle the device.
Resolution: If the Wi‑Fi module remains non-functional and E8 is constant, the main PCB or Wi‑Fi daughterboard must be replaced. Local manual control may still work.
