Possible Causes

Corrupted pairing configuration, Incompatible router security or band steering, Faulty Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or Wi‑Fi provisioning circuit on the main board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: No wiring work is required for this procedure. If you remove the thermostat from the wall, turn off power at the breaker first.

Steps to resolve:

  • Force-close and update the Mysa app: Make sure you have the latest version from the app store. Log out and back in.
  • Reset the thermostat to factory defaults: From the device menu, choose Settings > Reset > Factory Reset (or similar). Confirm and allow the thermostat to reboot.
  • Use 2.4 GHz only: Temporarily disable 5 GHz or band steering on your router, or create a dedicated 2.4 GHz SSID for setup.
  • Move closer to the router: If possible, temporarily power the thermostat on a short test lead near the router to rule out signal issues.
  • Try a different phone: Use another smartphone or tablet to perform the pairing in case of Bluetooth or OS-level issues.

If E02 persists after a full factory reset and multiple pairing attempts on a known-good 2.4 GHz network, the internal provisioning/BLE circuitry on the main board is likely defective and the thermostat should be replaced.
