Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power at the breaker before removing the thermostat from the wall.
Steps to inspect:
- Check for overheating: After turning power off and removing the thermostat, inspect the back of the unit for discoloration or burnt smell near the power supply components.
- Gently press around display bezel: With power restored, lightly press around the edges of the display (without removing the cover) to see if flicker changes, which can indicate a loose internal connector.
- Power cycle: Turn the breaker OFF for 2 minutes, then ON, and observe if the display stabilizes.
Because the display and its driver are integrated into the main assembly, user-level repair is not feasible. If E10 persists and the display remains unstable, replace the thermostat.
