Possible Causes
Damaged touch sensor overlay, Moisture or condensation under the front cover, Faulty touch controller IC on the main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power at the breaker before removing the thermostat from the wall.
Steps to attempt:
- Clean the surface: Wipe the front of the thermostat with a dry, lint-free cloth to remove oils or moisture. Do not use solvents.
- Check for condensation: If installed in a bathroom or humid area, allow the thermostat to dry out (power off) for several hours and then test again.
- Power cycle: Turn the breaker OFF for 2 minutes, then ON, and test touch response.
If E15 persists and touch remains unreliable, the touch sensor or controller is likely defective. Because these are integrated, replace the thermostat.
