Possible Causes

Thermostat mounted above heater or in direct sunlight, Internal NTC sensor affected by wall cavity drafts, Incorrect control algorithm settings (e.g., adaptive mode disabled)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF power at the breaker before relocating the thermostat.

Steps to improve control:

  • Check mounting location: Ensure the thermostat is installed on an interior wall, away from direct sunlight, drafts, and not directly above a baseboard heater.
  • Seal wall opening: Remove the thermostat and use foam or putty to seal large gaps in the wall box that may allow cold or hot air to affect the sensor.
  • Adjust settings: In the Mysa app, enable any available adaptive or proportional control modes and verify the correct heater type is selected.
  • Verify temperature calibration: If supported, use the app to apply a small calibration offset after comparing with a reliable thermometer.

If overshoot persists despite proper placement and settings, the internal sensor or control algorithm may be out of spec. Replacement may be considered.
