Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Important: Do not repeatedly unplug the Relay during an update unless it is clearly stuck for more than 20–30 minutes.
- Stabilize network: Ensure the router is powered, close to the Relay, and not overloaded. Avoid streaming or heavy downloads during the update.
- Retry update: In the Netatmo Energy app, go to Settings > Manage my home > Relay/Thermostat > Firmware and trigger the update again if available.
- Power‑cycle once: If the device is stuck for more than 30 minutes, unplug the Relay for 30 seconds and plug it back in. Wait for it to reconnect and then check firmware status.
- Check router firewall: Ensure outbound HTTPS traffic is allowed and that no security appliance is blocking Netatmo update servers.
If the device never completes updates and remains unstable, its flash memory may be damaged; replacement of the Relay or thermostat is recommended.
