Possible Causes
Weak Wi‑Fi signal at Relay location, Incorrect Wi‑Fi password stored in Relay, Router 2.4 GHz disabled or SSID hidden, Faulty Wi‑Fi module in Netatmo Relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: The thermostat may still control the boiler locally even if Wi‑Fi is lost; this error mainly affects remote access and smart features.
- Check router status: Confirm your internet router is powered and online. Reboot the router by unplugging it for 30 seconds.
- Verify 2.4 GHz network: Ensure the 2.4 GHz band is enabled on your router and that the SSID is broadcast. Netatmo Relay does not use 5 GHz only networks.
- Improve signal: Move the Relay closer to the router or remove it from behind thick walls or metal objects. If needed, use a Wi‑Fi extender and connect the Relay near it.
- Reconfigure Wi‑Fi: In the Netatmo Energy app, go to Settings > Manage my home > Relay > Wi‑Fi configuration and re‑enter your Wi‑Fi password. Make sure you select the correct SSID.
- Check for MAC filtering: If your router uses MAC address filtering, add the Relay’s MAC address (found in the app or on the label) to the allowed list.
If the Relay never connects to any known good Wi‑Fi network, the internal Wi‑Fi module may be faulty and the Relay should be replaced.
