Possible Causes
Valve not correctly screwed onto radiator adapter, Wrong adapter used for radiator body, Stuck or seized radiator valve pin, Faulty motor or gearbox inside Smart Radiator Valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Radiators can be hot. Allow them to cool or wear gloves when working on valves.
- Remove and re‑fit valve: Unscrew the Smart Radiator Valve from the adapter. Check that the adapter is firmly attached to the radiator body and matches the radiator type (M30x1.5, Danfoss, etc.). Re‑attach the valve tightly.
- Free the radiator pin: Gently press the metal pin in the radiator valve body in and out with your thumb or a blunt tool. It should move a few millimeters and spring back. If stuck, carefully work it until it moves freely.
- Re‑run calibration: In the Netatmo Energy app, select the valve and choose Calibrate. Follow the instructions and listen for the motor moving.
- Check for mechanical obstruction: Ensure nothing is pressing against the valve body that could block its movement.
If calibration continues to fail and the radiator pin moves freely, the internal motor or gearbox of the Smart Radiator Valve may be defective; replace the valve.
