Thermostat shows E07 and the app reports ‘Outdoor sensor error’; weather-compensated control is disabled.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Outdoor sensors are low-voltage, but cables may run near mains wiring. Turn off power to the control module before working on wiring.
- Inspect sensor location: Check that the Ngenic outdoor sensor is intact, not physically damaged, and not submerged in water or ice.
- Check cable connections: At the control module, verify that the outdoor sensor wires are firmly connected to the designated sensor terminals and not corroded.
- Measure resistance (advanced): With power off, use a multimeter to measure resistance across the sensor leads. Compare to Ngenic’s NTC curve at ambient temperature. Infinite or near-zero resistance indicates a failed sensor.
- Verify configuration: In the thermostat/app settings, ensure the correct outdoor sensor type is selected and that external weather data is not conflicting with the physical sensor.
If E07 persists and the sensor tests faulty, replace the Ngenic outdoor temperature sensor with the specified replacement part.
