Possible Causes
Incorrect dip switch settings on Ruud zone control panel, Loose zone communication wiring, Misconfigured zone names or assignments in thermostat, Faulty zone panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF power to the HVAC system and zone panel before opening panels.
- Check zone panel settings: Verify dip switches or jumpers on the Ruud zone control panel are set for the correct number of zones and system type.
- Inspect zone wiring: Ensure each zone thermostat or sensor (if used) is properly wired to the zone panel and that communication wiring to the main Ruud smart thermostat is secure.
- Re-scan zones: In the main thermostat's setup menu, run the zone discovery or configuration wizard to detect all zones and assign names.
- Panel fault: If certain zones never appear despite correct wiring and settings, the zone panel may have a failed zone channel and require replacement.
