Possible Causes
Failed RTC chip on PCB, Depleted backup battery or supercapacitor, Corrupted schedule data, Power interruptions beyond design limits
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No mains wiring changes are needed.
Steps:
- Manually set the correct date and time in the thermostat menu and reprogram a simple schedule.
- Turn off power to the thermostat for a few minutes, then restore power and check if the time and schedule were retained.
- If the thermostat loses time/schedule and shows E13 again, the internal RTC or backup storage is failing.
- Some models include a replaceable coin-cell battery; if accessible and documented by Schneider Electric, replace it with the specified type, observing polarity.
- If there is no user-replaceable battery or replacement does not resolve the issue, the thermostat must be replaced.
