E7
Stelpro
Cloud Service / Server Communication Error
Thermostat displays E7 and does not respond to app commands

Possible Causes
Home router blocking outbound ports used by Stelpro cloud, Internet connection down, Incorrect time/date or region settings on thermostat, Outdated firmware incompatible with current Stelpro cloud API
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No electrical work is required for this fault; do not open the thermostat unless instructed by Stelpro support.
Steps to troubleshoot E7 (cloud communication):
- 1. Check internet connection: Confirm that other devices in the home can access the internet. If not, reboot your modem/router and contact your ISP if needed.
- 2. Verify router settings: Ensure that your router firewall is not blocking outbound connections for the thermostat. Disable overly aggressive parental controls or firewall rules temporarily to test.
- 3. Check Stelpro app status: Log out and back into the Stelpro app. Look for any service status notifications from Stelpro indicating maintenance or outages.
- 4. Sync time and region: In the thermostat menu (or app), verify that the time zone and date are correct. Incorrect time can cause SSL or token validation failures.
- 5. Firmware update: If local Wi-Fi is working, check for and install any available firmware updates via the app. Follow on-screen instructions and do not cut power during the update.
- 6. Re-link account: Remove the thermostat from your Stelpro account in the app, then perform a factory reset on the thermostat (see manual) and add it again as a new device.
- 7. Contact Stelpro support: If E7 persists, provide them with the thermostat model, firmware version, and your network details. They may need to reset your cloud device registration.
Note: The thermostat should still control temperature locally even with E7, but remote access will be limited.
