Stelpro
User Interface Input Failure
Thermostat buttons or touchscreen are unresponsive or respond intermittently

Possible Causes
Capacitive touch panel contamination, Static discharge damage to touch controller, Loose front panel connection, Firmware glitch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the thermostat if needed.
Steps to restore UI responsiveness:
- 1. Clean surface: Gently clean the thermostat front with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Remove any oily residue or dirt.
- 2. Avoid gloves: Use bare fingers when touching the screen; some gloves block capacitive sensing.
- 3. Power cycle: Turn the breaker OFF for 1 minute, then ON. Test the buttons/touch again.
- 4. Check for warping: Ensure the thermostat is mounted flat against the wall and not twisted, which can stress the touch panel.
- 5. Reseat front panel (advanced): With power OFF, remove the thermostat and reseat any connectors between the front panel and main board.
- 6. Use app as workaround: Control the thermostat via the Stelpro app if the local UI is unreliable.
- 7. Replace thermostat: If the UI remains unresponsive, replace the thermostat.
Note: Avoid using harsh chemicals on the touch surface; they can damage the sensor.
