Thermostat randomly resets or reboots during normal operation

Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before tightening any wiring.

Steps to troubleshoot random resets:

• 1. Observe pattern: Note whether resets occur when heaters turn on, when other large appliances start, or randomly.
• 2. Tighten connections: With power OFF, tighten all thermostat terminal screws and wire nuts in the wall box.
• 3. Check circuit loading: Ensure the heating circuit is not overloaded with multiple high-wattage devices that cause voltage dips.
• 4. Install surge/line conditioner: Consider adding a surge protector or line conditioner if your area has unstable voltage.
• 5. Firmware update: Update the thermostat firmware via the Stelpro app to address potential software crashes.
• 6. Replace thermostat: If resets continue despite stable power and updated firmware, the internal power supply or processor may be defective. Replace the thermostat.

Note: Frequent resets can interrupt heating and should be addressed promptly.
