Possible Causes
Incorrect time zone setting, Loss of time during power outages, Cloud time sync disabled or failing, Faulty RTC circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No electrical work is required.
Steps to correct timekeeping:
- 1. Set time zone: In the Stelpro app or thermostat menu, ensure the correct time zone and daylight saving settings are selected.
- 2. Enable network time: Allow the thermostat to sync time from the internet if supported. Ensure Wi-Fi and cloud connectivity are stable.
- 3. Check for firmware updates: Install any available updates that may address timekeeping bugs.
- 4. Test after outage: After a brief power outage, verify whether the time remains correct. If it resets, the internal backup may be failing.
- 5. Replace thermostat: If timekeeping remains unreliable and affects schedules, replace the thermostat.
Note: Incorrect time can also affect energy reports and remote scheduling.
