Possible Causes

Excessive distance between thermostat and Internet Bridge, RF interference from thick walls or metal objects, Internet Bridge radio failure, Thermostat radio module fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Only reposition devices and change batteries. Do not open the thermostat or bridge casing.

  • Check bridge status: Confirm the Internet Bridge is online (LEDs lit and app shows it connected). If offline, resolve that first.
  • Reduce distance: Move the Internet Bridge to a more central location in the home, away from the router’s back panel and not behind a TV or metal cabinet. Use a longer Ethernet cable if needed.
  • Remove RF obstacles: Avoid placing the bridge or thermostat near large metal radiators, fridges, or thick reinforced concrete walls. Small repositioning (1–2 m) can significantly improve signal.
  • Replace thermostat batteries: For battery-powered Tado Smart Thermostats or Smart Radiator Thermostats, install fresh, high-quality alkaline AA batteries, observing polarity.
  • Re-pair device: In the Tado app, remove the affected thermostat, then follow the pairing instructions to re-add it to the Internet Bridge. Keep the thermostat close to the bridge during pairing.
  • Test connection: After pairing, check that the E02 code clears and the device shows as connected in the app.
