Possible Causes
Radiator-mounted sensor affected by hot radiator surface, Thermostat covered by curtains or furniture, Poor air circulation around device, No temperature offset configured
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Radiator may be hot; handle with care.
- Check placement: Ensure the Smart Radiator Thermostat is not covered by curtains or furniture and has free air circulation.
- Compare with room thermometer: Place an independent thermometer at seating height in the room and compare readings.
- Apply offset: In the Tado app, set a temperature offset for the radiator thermostat so that the displayed temperature matches the actual room temperature.
- Consider wireless temperature sensor: If available, use a separate Tado Smart Thermostat or wireless temperature sensor in the room as the primary temperature reference.
