Possible Causes
Depleted batteries, Loose or disconnected 230 V supply (for wired models), Faulty power supply circuit, Incorrect wiring to thermostat base
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety warning: For wired thermostats, turn off power at the breaker before inspecting wiring.
- Battery models: Replace the batteries with fresh alkaline cells, ensuring correct polarity. If the display remains blank, try another set of known-good batteries.
- Wired models: Confirm that the boiler/heating circuit breaker is on and that other boiler controls have power.
- Inspect wiring: With power off, remove the thermostat from its base and check that the power supply wires are connected to the correct low-voltage terminals as per Tado’s wiring diagram.
- Restore power: Refit the thermostat and restore power. If the display is still blank, the internal electronics may have failed and the thermostat should be replaced.
