Possible Causes
G wire not connected, Thermostat set to equipment-controlled fan when furnace requires thermostat fan control, Faulty fan relay on furnace board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power to indoor and outdoor units before wiring checks.
- Verify G wiring: Ensure the G wire is connected at thermostat and furnace board.
- Fan control setting: In the Kasa app, set fan control to "thermostat" if your furnace requires the thermostat to energize G during cooling.
- Technician test: A technician can jumper R to G at the furnace board to verify blower operation. If blower does not run, the furnace fan relay or motor is faulty.
- Replace thermostat: If blower runs with jumper but not via thermostat after settings are corrected, replace the thermostat.
