Thermostat shows very high or low humidity compared to other hygrometers

Steps:

• Compare readings: Use a separate hygrometer to compare humidity near the thermostat.
• Placement: Avoid installing the thermostat near showers, kitchen ranges, or whole-house humidifier outlets.
• Dry out: If condensation is suspected, power off the thermostat, remove it, and allow it to dry in a warm, dry room for several hours.
• Gentle cleaning: Blow out dust with dry compressed air through the vents. Do not spray liquids.
• Replace thermostat: If readings remain inaccurate by a large margin, the humidity sensor is defective and the thermostat should be replaced.
