Thermostat does not respond to touch or buttons, but display appears normal

Safety: Turn off power to the HVAC system before removing the thermostat.

• Step 1 – Reboot thermostat: Remove the thermostat from the wall for 30–60 seconds, then reinstall. If there is a reset option in the menu, use it.
• Step 2 – Inspect for damage: Check the screen for cracks or signs of impact. If damaged, the display assembly must be replaced.
• Step 3 – Firmware update: If you can still navigate via limited touches, connect to Wi‑Fi and check for firmware updates.
• Step 4 – Factory reset: If possible, perform a factory reset from the settings menu.
• Step 5 – Replace thermostat: If the interface remains unresponsive, replace the thermostat with a compatible Trane smart model.
