No heating demand
Vaillant vSMART
Demand Logic or Schedule Misconfiguration
vSMART app shows no heating demand even though room temperature is below the setpoint; boiler remains off.

Possible Causes
Heating schedule set to OFF or low setpoint, vSMART in holiday or frost protection mode, incorrect system type configuration (e.g., set to hot water only), room assignment or zoning misconfigured
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Steps to restore heating demand:
- Check current mode: In the app, verify that the system is not in holiday, away, or eco mode that limits heating. Disable these modes if active.
- Review schedule: Open the heating schedule and confirm that the current time slot has a target temperature above the actual room temperature.
- Override setpoint: Temporarily set a higher temperature (e.g., 24°C) and wait 5–10 minutes to see if the boiler starts.
- System configuration: In advanced settings, confirm that the system is configured for space heating (radiators/underfloor) and not only for domestic hot water.
- Multiple zones: If you have multiple vSMART zones, ensure you are adjusting the correct zone and that the boiler is assigned to that zone.
If the app shows demand but the boiler still does not fire, the issue is likely with the boiler, wiring, or vSMART interface rather than the schedule.
