Possible Causes
Failed internal NTC sensor on thermostat PCB, Moisture ingress into thermostat casing, Manufacturing defect in sensor circuit, Overheating due to mounting above radiator or heat source
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: The thermostat is low-voltage but still isolate power to the heating system before removing it from the wall plate.
- Check mounting location: Ensure the thermostat is not installed directly above a radiator, near a fireplace, or in direct sunlight. Excess heat can damage the internal sensor.
- Power reset: Remove the thermostat from its wall plate (if it is a clip-on design) or turn off power at the fused spur for 30 seconds, then restore power and reattach.
- Inspect for moisture: Look for signs of condensation or water damage on the thermostat housing. If present, relocate the thermostat to a drier location and allow it to dry fully before reuse.
- Check temperature reading: Compare the thermostat's displayed room temperature with a reliable thermometer. If the reading is wildly inaccurate or E01 persists, the internal sensor is likely faulty.
- Replace thermostat: Internal sensor faults are not user-repairable. Replace the Vokera smart thermostat with an identical model or contact Vokera support.
