Possible Causes

Open circuit or short circuit in external sensor cable, Incorrect sensor type configured in thermostat settings, Damaged remote room sensor, Loose connection at thermostat sensor terminals

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate power to the thermostat circuit before working on any low-voltage wiring.

  • Confirm sensor use: Check the installation manual to see if your Vokera smart thermostat is configured to use an external room or floor sensor. If not required, disable the external sensor option in the thermostat settings.
  • Inspect wiring: Remove the thermostat from the wall plate and inspect the external sensor terminals. Ensure the sensor wires are firmly clamped and not shorted together.
  • Check cable continuity: If you have a multimeter and are competent to use it, test the resistance of the sensor at the thermostat end. Compare with the expected NTC resistance from the manual. Infinite or zero resistance indicates a cable or sensor fault.
  • Check sensor location: Ensure the external sensor is not installed in a damp area or where it can be physically damaged.
  • Replace sensor if needed: If wiring is intact but E02 persists, replace the Vokera-compatible remote room/floor sensor.
