Wiser Room Thermostat shows E16 and the app indicates a display or UI error; screen may be blank or partially lit.

Safety: Do not attempt to open the thermostat casing; this can damage the unit and void warranty.

• Battery reset: Remove and reinstall batteries to see if the display recovers.
• Check for cracks: Inspect the display for visible cracks or bleeding, which indicate physical damage.
• Use app as interface: If the thermostat still functions but the display is unreadable, you may temporarily control heating via the Wiser app while arranging replacement.

Persistent E16 or a physically damaged display requires replacement of the thermostat.
