Broken NTC sensor connection on PCB, Shorted sensor due to moisture, Manufacturing defect in sensor solder joints, Severe mechanical shock
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No user-serviceable parts inside the thermostat.
- Reset thermostat: Remove batteries for 1 minute and reinstall.
- Check for moisture: If the thermostat has been exposed to water (e.g. paint, cleaning fluids), allow it to dry in a warm, dry room for 24 hours, then test again.
If E17 remains, the sensor circuit is damaged. Replace the thermostat.
