Possible Causes
Thermostat installed near heat source or draught, Internal sensor drift, Radiator TRV controlling temperature away from thermostat, Incorrect temperature offset in app
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No mains work required.
- Check mounting position: Ensure the Wiser Room Thermostat is on an internal wall, about 1.5 m above floor level, away from radiators, windows, and direct sunlight.
- Adjust temperature offset: In the Wiser app, use the temperature offset feature (if available) to align the displayed temperature with a reliable reference thermometer.
- Use room thermostat as reference: If using Wiser Radiator Thermostats, assign the room thermostat as the temperature sensor for that room in the app so control is based on its reading.
If large inaccuracies persist despite correct placement and offset, the thermostat's sensor may be faulty and the unit should be replaced.
