Possible Causes
Weak 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi signal at thermostat location, Incorrect Wi‑Fi password or SSID, Router blocking device or MAC address, Failed Wi‑Fi radio on Wyze thermostat main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No high-voltage work is required, but avoid removing the thermostat while HVAC is running.
- Check Wi‑Fi network: Confirm your router is broadcasting a 2.4 GHz network (Wyze thermostats typically do not support 5 GHz only). Ensure the network is up and other devices can connect.
- Move router or add extender: If the thermostat is far from the router, move the router closer or add a Wi‑Fi extender to improve signal strength at the thermostat location.
- Re-enter Wi‑Fi credentials: In the Wyze app, go to the thermostat settings and re-run the Wi‑Fi setup, carefully entering the correct SSID and password.
- Reboot router and thermostat: Power cycle your router and modem, then remove and reattach the thermostat display to reboot its Wi‑Fi module.
- Check router settings: Ensure MAC filtering is disabled or that the thermostat’s MAC address is allowed. Disable any overly aggressive firewall settings that might block IoT devices.
- Replace thermostat if Wi‑Fi radio failed: If E10 persists and other devices connect fine, the internal Wi‑Fi module may be defective and the thermostat display may need replacement.
