Possible Causes
Thermostat not firmly seated on Wyze wall plate pins, Poor 24VAC power during calibration, Internal sensor drift beyond calibration range, Firmware issue during initial setup
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off HVAC power at the breaker before reseating the thermostat.
- Reseat the thermostat: Gently remove the Wyze display and inspect the metal pins on the wall plate for bending or corrosion. Clean lightly with a dry cloth and firmly reattach the display until it clicks.
- Ensure stable power: Confirm the furnace breaker is on and that there are no frequent power interruptions during calibration.
- Factory reset (if needed): If E41 persists, perform a factory reset on the thermostat following Wyze’s instructions, then re-run the setup and calibration process.
- Update firmware: After reconnecting, use the Wyze app to check for and install any firmware updates, then attempt calibration again.
- Replace thermostat if unresolved: If calibration fails repeatedly, the internal sensors or logic board may be defective and the thermostat display should be replaced.
