Temperature Sensor Offset or Placement Issue
Thermostat temperature reading is significantly different from actual room temperature.

Possible Causes
Thermostat installed near heat source or draft, Internal sensor drift, Heat from wall cavity (e.g., hot attic behind wall), Incorrect calibration/offset setting in Wyze app
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No high-voltage work is required.
- Compare with reference thermometer: Place a reliable thermometer near the thermostat and compare readings after 15–20 minutes.
- Adjust temperature offset: In the Wyze app, use the calibration or offset setting to correct the displayed temperature to match the reference.
- Improve wall insulation: If the thermostat is on an exterior wall or above a hot cavity, install an insulating foam gasket behind the wall plate to reduce heat transfer from the wall.
- Relocate thermostat if necessary: If placement is poor (direct sun, near vents), consider moving the thermostat to an interior wall in a representative area of the home.
