Generator will not start and control panel displays E01 immediately after a start attempt.

Safety first: Turn the generator to OFF, disconnect the battery negative cable, and ensure the unit cannot auto-start. Allow the engine to cool completely before working on it.

• Check oil level: Remove the dipstick and verify the oil level is between the LOW and FULL marks. Top up with the manufacturer-recommended oil (typically SAE 10W-30 or as specified in the A-iPower standby generator manual). Do not overfill.
• Inspect for oil leaks: Look around the oil filter, drain plug, crankcase gasket, and oil cooler (if equipped) for signs of leakage. Repair leaks and refill oil as needed.
• Reset and test: Reconnect the battery, clear the code if the controller allows, and attempt a manual start. If E01 clears and the unit runs normally, monitor oil level over the next few run cycles.
• Check low oil pressure switch: With the battery disconnected, locate the low oil pressure switch on the engine block. Inspect the connector for corrosion or loose fit. Clean and reseat. If you have a multimeter and the service manual, test the switch for proper open/closed operation according to spec.
• If E01 persists: The low oil pressure switch, wiring harness, or internal oil pump may be faulty. Do not bypass the safety switch. Contact a qualified generator technician for oil pressure testing and component replacement.
