Generator shuts down shortly after starting and displays E02 on the A-iPower controller.

Safety first: Turn OFF the generator, disconnect the battery, and allow the engine to cool for at least 30–45 minutes. Never open a hot radiator cap.

• Inspect airflow: Check that the generator enclosure louvers and intake/exhaust vents are not blocked by debris, snow, or vegetation. Clear any obstructions to ensure proper airflow.
• Check coolant level (if liquid-cooled): Once cool, remove the radiator cap slowly. Coolant should be near the top of the neck. If low, top up with the recommended coolant mix. Inspect hoses and the radiator for leaks.
• Inspect cooling fan: Verify that the electric cooling fan (or belt-driven fan) spins freely and is not obstructed. On a test start, observe whether the fan engages. If it does not, check the fan fuse, relay, and wiring.
• Clean radiator/fins: Use low-pressure compressed air from the inside out to blow dust and debris from the radiator or cylinder cooling fins. Avoid bending fins.
• Check temperature sensor connection: Locate the engine temperature sensor on the cylinder head or thermostat housing. Inspect the connector for corrosion or damage and reseat it.
• If E02 recurs: There may be a failed fan motor, thermostat, water pump, or temperature sensor. Further diagnosis with the A-iPower service manual and test equipment is required; contact a professional technician.
