Possible Causes
Failed battery charger overcharging, Incorrect external charger connected, Faulty voltage sensing in controller
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the generator, disconnect AC supply to the charger, and wear eye protection. Overcharged batteries can vent gas and acid.
- Measure battery voltage: With a multimeter, check the battery. If it reads above ~14.8 V at rest, disconnect the charger immediately.
- Inspect charger module: Locate the A-iPower battery charger in the control compartment. Check for burnt smell, discoloration, or melted wiring. Ensure its AC input is correctly wired and fused.
- Remove external chargers: If an external automotive charger or maintainer is connected, disconnect it. Use only the charger specified by A-iPower.
- Reset system: After disconnecting the charger and allowing the battery to rest, reconnect the battery and clear the code if possible. If voltage returns to normal, replace the faulty charger module.
- If E09 persists with normal battery voltage: The controller's voltage sensing circuit may be defective and should be evaluated by a service technician.
