Possible Causes

Disconnected or failed fuel level sender, Stuck float in fuel tank, Damaged wiring from tank to controller, Incorrect sender resistance type

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the generator, disconnect the battery, and avoid open flames or sparks near the fuel tank.

  • Verify actual fuel level: Use the mechanical gauge (if present) or visually inspect the tank to confirm fuel level. Do not rely solely on the electronic reading when E16 is active.
  • Inspect sender wiring: Trace the wires from the fuel tank sender to the controller. Look for loose connectors, chafed insulation, or corrosion.
  • Check sender mounting: Ensure the fuel level sender is securely mounted and not rotated or bent, which can cause the float to stick.
  • Test sender (if equipped to do so): With the sender removed and using a multimeter, move the float through its range and verify resistance changes smoothly according to the A-iPower spec.
  • If sender is faulty: Replace with an A-iPower-compatible fuel level sender of the correct resistance range.
