Possible Causes

Failed fuel shutoff solenoid, No power to solenoid coil, Stuck solenoid plunger, Broken solenoid wiring

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the generator, disconnect the battery, and shut off the fuel supply at the manual valve.

  • Locate fuel solenoid: On gasoline/diesel models, the fuel solenoid is typically mounted on the carburetor or injection pump. On gaseous models, it may be in-line on the gas train.
  • Check wiring: Inspect the solenoid connector and wiring for damage or loose pins. Repair as needed.
  • Test solenoid operation: With the solenoid removed (if accessible) and using a 12 V supply, briefly energize the coil and verify that the plunger moves freely. Do not energize near fuel vapors.
  • Verify controller output: Using a multimeter, confirm that the controller supplies voltage to the solenoid during a start attempt.
  • Replace faulty solenoid: If the solenoid does not actuate or is stuck, replace it with an A-iPower-compatible fuel shutoff solenoid.
