Possible Causes
Loose fuel line fittings, Cracked fuel hose, Leaking carburetor bowl gasket, Faulty fuel shutoff valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the generator, close all fuel supply valves, disconnect the battery, and eliminate all ignition sources. Work in a well-ventilated area.
- Inspect fuel lines: Follow all fuel hoses from the tank to the engine. Look for wet spots, cracks, or soft, swollen hose sections. Replace any suspect hoses with fuel-rated hose.
- Check fittings and clamps: Tighten loose hose clamps and threaded fittings. Do not overtighten plastic fittings.
- Examine carburetor/injector area: Look for fuel seepage around the carburetor bowl, injector rail, or fuel solenoid. Replace gaskets or seals as needed.
- Test after repair: Open the fuel valve and watch for leaks before attempting to start. Wipe up any spilled fuel.
