How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the generator, disconnect the battery, and allow moving parts to stop and hot surfaces to cool.
- Inspect mounts: Check engine and alternator mounting bolts on the base frame. Tighten any loose fasteners to the torque specified by A-iPower.
- Check exhaust system: Inspect the muffler, exhaust pipe, and brackets for cracks or broken welds. Replace damaged components.
- Look for loose panels: Tighten enclosure panels and latches that may vibrate and rattle.
- If deep knocking persists: A heavy metallic knock that changes with engine speed may indicate internal engine damage. Shut down and consult a professional immediately.
