Possible Causes
Tripped generator main breaker, Loose output wiring, Failed AVR, Open stator winding
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Open the transfer switch or main breaker to isolate the generator from the building. Use a meter to confirm no live voltage before touching conductors.
- Check main breaker: Locate the generator's main circuit breaker and ensure it is in the ON position. Reset if tripped.
- Inspect output lugs: With the generator off, tighten all output terminal screws and inspect for burnt insulation.
- Test voltage at generator: With proper PPE, start the generator and measure voltage directly at the generator terminals. If zero, suspect AVR or alternator issues.
- If no output at terminals: AVR or stator repair is required; contact an A-iPower service center.
