Possible Causes

Load exceeds generator rating, Short circuit on load side, Faulty circuit breaker, Incorrect CT wiring to controller

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Open the generator output breaker and isolate from the load before troubleshooting.

  • Check load level: Review recent loads connected to the Aksa standby generator. Large motors or heaters may exceed kW/kVA rating. Reduce or stagger loads.
  • Inspect for short circuits: Check downstream panels and cables for tripped breakers, burnt smell, or visible damage. Repair any shorted circuits before reconnecting.
  • Test generator breaker: Operate the generator main breaker several times. If it trips at low load, have it tested or replaced.
  • Verify CT wiring: In the control panel, confirm current transformer (CT) wiring matches the controller diagram and that CT ratios are correctly programmed.
  • Gradual load test: After clearing faults, reconnect loads gradually while monitoring current on each phase via the Aksa controller.
